I'm about halfway through The Incantation of Frida K. by Kate Braverman. I was a little reluctant to read about the life of Frida Kahlo again - there seems to be a lot about her. I'm struggling with the book because of this but what makes it a very good read for me is the original writing, the language - beautiful and unusual. I often like a book for the lyrical writing, the imagery, metaphors etc as much as the story.
The other similar book in the voice of Frida Kahlo that I've read is "Love Letter to a Stray Moon" by Jay Griffiths. I'm a Jay Griffiths fan but this is a bit over the top - and again, it's about Frida Kahlo.
On my "to read" list is "The Running Hare" as I'm a nature writing fan :)
