Q: People suffer from any different kinds of issues. Although they are different and each, perhaps, needs a different remedy or therapy, all seem to involve attachment. How should we understand this?
A: There is a Chinese story about a man who goes sailing in his boat and while sailing along he accidentally knocks his sword over the side and it sinks into the water. In order not to forget where he lost it, the man takes out his knife and cuts a notch in the side of the boat at the point where the sword fell over. Of course, some people have many notches on their boat.

Carol drove me into Ottawa at midday on Wednesday 12th. I had spent the morning being interviewed and making a short film.
