It is very beautiful here, especially at this time of year. Soon all the trees will come into leaf.

Annette came to visit today. We wandered around the grounds through the proliferation of flowers - purpureum, veronica, daisy, violet, primula, celandine, sloe blossom, cherry blossom, daffodils, dandelion - all quite glorious, either massed together or spread out along the forest paths, nodding their heads in the sunshine. Then we had coffee and cake with cream, sitting in the refectory looking out on the rose garden. All delightful. I feel that it is a great privilege to live and work in such a place - a little pure land on earth.
