MONDAY 14 DEC: Onward to Belgium

Watford
We spent last night at the home of Susthama and Damian in Watford. We had many good conversations and reflections upon the retreat in Malvern of the past week. Their daughter, Selena, age 3, had asked if I would take her to nursery school this morning, so before we set off on our travels we walked through the underpass under the motorway and up to the old college building where the day care centre is now housed and saw her to her class.

To Ghent
Then we packed up the car and set off to Dover. We were still in good time and it was an easy drive and a smooth crossing. On the French-Belgian side, however, the traffic was a lot more dense and it was dark so the drive to Ghent was more taxing. However, we got a warm welcome from Karin and Eddy and spent a pleasant evening before turing in to get some much needed rest.
