One of the best of things is good breakfast conversation and after long deep sleep what better to discuss than the dreams of the night before? Dreams are both mysterious and revealing and the many different systems of interpretation can each throw some light or trigger us into reminiscences or sharing of hopes, fears and experiences. Eleusis is an excellent place for dream work as the closeness to nature induces good sleep and the magical atmosphere inspires imagery.

In one of his essays - can't remember which - Freud suggests that we dream because we do not want to wake up. The dream extends sleep and is a kind of prevarication - a bit like watching a movie rather than doing one's homework. Elsewhere he talks about them being either "wish fulfilment" or, on the other hand, the attempt to master things that overwhelm us. I can see some sense in all three ideas, though they point in different directions, suggesting that not all dreams are doing the same thing.

My dreams were very powerful last night. Very emotional but unfortunately as incoherent as ever, leaving me feeling dark but none the wiser as to meaning. All goes towards healing though i think!!?

WHAT NEXT?

As far as my life goes, it is pretty boring; nothing too exciting or too adventurous. We had a ‘minor scare’ over Christmas, however, but it turned out to be nothing but a change in hormones. Had it come to fruition it would have meant another three years of my life doing nothing but the same thing that I have been doing for the past six years, and boy oh boy, I am so relieved that it was just a scare. You can never be too careful, and at the same time you can’t even plan the perfect time to…

I am currently in Milan - a fine city. This is the commercial hub of Italy, home of many big names and innumerable small enterprises that attract shoppers from all over the world. There is quite a strong sense of energy here. The biggest tourist attractions are La Scala and the Cathedral.

I have rented a…

JOHNNY HALLYDAY

Johnny Hallyday died just after midnight this morning.
