Watching growth and maturity, finding courage. Another great challenge for lovely Tara. My young cat Aria has somehow taught herself to catch rats, some that are almost as large as she.

Poor Tara! I hate it when the cats get into fights - the others are always the 'bad guys'....

Cat Stand Off ~ We had a small cat crisis last night. A burly tom cat muscled in on the yard. The first I knew was loud sqwarking noises. It was pitch dark when I went out with my torch but cat's eyes are a give away. I chased him off. Tara was nowhere to be seen, but after calling her for a while she scurried into the house. She was bristling all over and full of fury, not sure whether to be angry or scared - actually both - oscillating between going back out and staying in. In the end she sat on my bed for a while thinking it over and then went back out. This morning she was fine and her normal character.

Beautiful light showing the way home.

I imagine pussy cat has also honed her editing skills as well.

She must enjoy it very much. Lots of things to see, smell and chase.

La Ville au Roi is cat paradise. 16 hectare of woods and fields. Mostly she prefers to sleep in the barn rather than come in the house. The barn is bigger than the house, so I think of her as the lady from the big house next door.

Such a beautiful cat!!!!! Mine goes out on lead, but he doesn't fancy out outdoor trips. I still think it's important for him, so he can get some sensory stimulus, plus he walks with me so it's a great exercise for him.

At the moment I am feeling very sad for the state of the planet. As I write the great forests are being consumed by fire, both the tropical forest in Brazil and the tundra forest in Russia. The great forests are the lungs of the earth. I myself have lung problems. When there are parts of the lungs that don’t work anymore one can run out of energy. It can strike suddenly. We will probably not do anything serious about climate change or wildlife extinction…

My medical condition continues to be a mystery. It is clear that I do not have any of the big nasty things - brain tumour, cracked skull, stroke, etc - as these have been ruled out by MRI investigation. Nonetheless I continue to have persistent, continuous head pain that varies in intensity and I become exhausted by the least effort so that I am functioning like an invalid incapable of doing very much. There is always a possibility that the whole syndrome is a…

“Do we know what it means to be struck by grace? It does not mean that we suddenly believe that God exists, or that Jesus is the saviour, or that the Bible contains the truth. Grace strikes us when we are in great pain and restlessness. It strikes us when we walk through the dark Valley of a meaningless and empty life. It strikes us when we feel that our separation is deeper than usual, because we have violated another life, a life which we loved, or from which we were estranged. It strikes us… Continue
