It occurred to me this morning during the Sunday morning Puja, the first I have attended for a while, maybe a few years! - that the wisdom of the ancient words that make up the verses and texts is not so much in our (varying) limited ability to extract meaning, but rather in our willingness to be open to allowing them to inhabit us. Once we have been exposed this is allowing or openness for me - as I cannot speak for anyone else - is ever unfolding and the relationship to the wisdom ever changing from my side. The wisdom of the Buddha is maybe unchanging from the Buddha's side - it is A-mida, without measure. I was moved this morning to hear myself say and hear others speak words that long ago I had memorised and find a renewed and refreshed relationship to them.
