period of retreat and intensive practice following the Amida Pureland way. The retreat is offered to Amida shu and Order members as well as new people wishing to find out about the practices of the Amida School. We particularly welcome people who are interested in considering a Buddhist training. The Amida School offers two main training streams, for those who live a householder life and for people who wish to consider making a full time commitment to the sangha. The latter involves following an itinerant life, mostly based in Europe, with periods living in community in France.
These retreats include a formal schedule of meditation, chanting, devotional practice, sutra and liturgy recitation as well as offering an introduction to the way of life in an Amidist full time spiritual community. Also included will be time for dharma discussion, groups for personal sharing and work periods, involving for example gardening, building maintenance and cooking.
This practice retreat and training opportunity will be repeated in the Spring. People are welcome to come for all or part of the advertised period.
Fee. Donations are invited in the region of €20 per day to cover basic living costs
If you wish to discuss your individual situation and/or find out about the retreat, do contact Jnanamati.
Jnanamati is an Amitarya, a full time Pureland priest, with the Amida Order.
