Tell us about yourself - at least 30 words
I have been participating in buddhism in a Triratna-sangha in amsterdam since December 2023. I feel very much at home there. I experience that sangha as deeply nourishing.
I am a ‘child of liberation’—born in 1946, grown up in Friesland, in the village of De Lemmer, which was still a traditional fishing village at the time. I am now 78 years old, have adult children and grandchildren, am divorced, and have lived in Utrecht with Annelies since 2011. Together, we run an Argentine tango school. I work as a dance instructor, primarily in the evenings and on weekends. Before this, I was a director and actor, as well as a physics lecturer at a teacher training college and at TU Delft.
My years in the Philippines and Algeria during my early twenties were profoundly formative. That period, in particular, set me on my spiritual path
