Four afternoon sessions with David Brazier in Milan
(English with translation into Italian)
18 & 25 January + 1 & 8 February 2018

What do we need to be mindful of in relationships and, when we are in a relationship, what is our mind (and heart) actually full of? Love is not governed by logic. In this course, building upon our own experiences, we shall go deeper into the hidden dynamics that play out as we try to get closer to one another: the fear, the joy, the hurt, the longing, the ways in which we seek to love one another and cope with the difficulties and disappointments that inevitably arise. This course is suitable for anybody who has experience of life and especially for therapists and spiritual practitioners who may have the role of helping couples and of dealing with the stresses aroused in themselves in the course of their attempts to do so. This is an experiential course rather than a theoretical one. The theory behind it is largely drawn from Buddhist psychology that sees all intentional action as consequential and all intentions as conditioned in a variety of ways, and prescribes routes to liberation through compassion and insight. Whether you are interested from a professional or personal perspective, the personal dimension cannot be avoided and we shall, as far as possible, work with actual experience rather than abstract ideas.
