MONDAY 1 February; leg full of 'bullets'

Pooh

Yesterday I found a small package in the mailbox and I brought it with me to the hospital. David unwrapped it and it is a book 'The Tao of Pooh.' No name, so it is a mystery gift... Thank you very much! We read several dialogues together of Pooh and his friends. We enjoyed very much the conversation from pooh with his friends:

Troubelmakers

This afternoon we had an outing. We went with a special medical taxi to another hospital in another city. In that hospital we visit the “angiology” (blood circulation) department. A specialist doctor made an echo from Davids torso and legs. Thanks to this echo the 'troublemakers' are found. His heart, abdomen and right leg were fine but the doctor immediately noticed that his feet are different colours, one white and one red. She did a thorough examination using a machine that can see the veins inside the leg. There are a lot of caillot (literally, pebbles, really blood clots (trombosis)) in his left leg. The doctor explained there is no danger at the moment because of the treatment and medication David is on. I try to have faith in what the doctor is saying...

The only danger there is connected with the fact David is using blood thinners. Why he is having all these blood clots in his left leg is unknown at the moment. The next step is a body scan – hopefully we shall find out.

Sabbatical

The doctor told us that the travelling is not the cause of the thrombosis and that she would really like to discover the cause, but, nonetheless, she said that in this coming half year at least it is not sensible at all for David to make long journeys with his current health condition. In the mean while David is wondering if this could be the result of half a century sitting in the lotus position....

2016 seems likely to be a sabbatical year for him with healthy exercises and walks in the woods of Eleusis.

The beds in France are small...
