MONDAY 31 October ~ The Sunset was Orange

The clocks have changed,
an extra hour in the day -
put it in the pantry
to eat later.

The old codger is suddenly singing at breakfast
to the Buddha of Light
between the cereal
and the fruit.

Today the doctor
checks me over
lines me up for tests
to investigate my plumbing.

It is all a bit ironic,
as a Buddhist priest,
to be on doctors orders
not to sit in zazen posture.

Back home I check the meteo.
No likelihood of frost tonight.
Nonetheless
I put a few more logs on the fire.

Golden is silence,
Silver the stars,
The sunset was orange
Tonight.
