SUNDAY 1 May ~ Bees, Flowers and Trees

Another bright chilly day. In the morning we went to two street markets in different local villages. We did not stay long at either because of the cold. After an unusually mild winter we are having an unusually chilly spring. The first market was devoted to apiculture - that's bee keeping. We have not got any bees yet - apart from the wild ones - but it was interesting to make contacts and see equipment.  The second was a flower market. I bought a rose plant to add to our rose garden

When we got home there was still a chilly wind, but I wanted to get out and get some air so decided to go and work in the woods, cutting ivy from oak trees. In the process I also gathered some fair sized heaps of firewood for Adam to bring back to the house later.
