Unfortunately I have lost my camera or I would have posted pictures of the new flowers that have been planted. Creating beauty is important. Making a place that attracts and inspires is just as important as filling the mind with beautiful ideas. In our Buddha Hall it is good to offer incense and flowers and other beautiful things. Of course, the things of this world are transient. We cut the grass and the lawn looks lovely, but then it grows again and nettles spring up. Yet in that time of beauty, we feel something that is not time limited. The juxtaposition of the ephemeral and the eternal is very touching. Walking into the woods here I am surrounded by wonders. Looking up, one sees the clouds roll across the deeply blue sky.
