THURSDAY 7 Apr ~ Beds & Blossoms

Spring Clean
Slowly, Eleusis is getting ready to receive more visitors as the weather improves. Today, while I have been busy writing, the others have all been busy reorganising the house. Elja and i have moved fully back into my rooms in the old ecurie and our old room has been prepared for guests. Then in the up-stairs where we have what used to be a granary with beautiful exposed beams, there has been a big reorganisation with much moving of beds and mattresses in order to make the space usable for a variety of purposes. In the process, things that have been stored away for winter get unpacked. there is a lot of washing and some repairing to do.

Looking for a Laptop
Elja’s laptop has completely died, so she is now frustrated that she is missing what is going on on the website and that she is unable to write Dailies. Also that she cannot do her translation work. She is currently looking for a good second hand one, but does not want to buy one locally because it will have everything in French.

Beautiful Blossom
Before dinner we went for a walk around the meditation path and admired the bluebells, the flax flowers and the blackthorn blossom which is now coming out in abundance. One of the most beautiful times of day is the early evening. The almost horizontal light of the setting sun, the sounds of birds going home and settling for the night, the hush that seems to hold the world in suspense all conspire to create a time of great peace.
