Today we spent the morning in Watford having discussions with our friend Susthama mostly on the topic of what it is like living outside of or on the edge of conventional society, and the compromises that one has to make in order to participate or survive in a social ambiance oriented to materialism. In the afternoon we travelled west and arrived at the Amida Mandala Buddhist Temple in Malvern and moved into what will be our quarters for the immediate future, a lovely room on the top floor with a magnificent view across the Vale of Evesham. It was a happy meeting with sangha friends and very good to see the improvements there have been in the temple building since my last visit.
