TUESDAY 12 Jan

This morning, over breakfast, we had a discussion of relationships and community and the idea of recreating tribes, in general, and, more specifically, around Eleusis, a tribe being, essentially, a network of relationships that cross a certain threshold of activity or intensity such as to generate a cohesion that members can rely upon. Such relationships are likely to be a mesh of intersecting yet different types, not conforming to any particular fixed form or political idea, but growing organically.

After breakfast, in a brief break in the wet weather, we had a fire to Artemis. Sun shone down through the leaves and the forest filled with smoke and prayers for the well-being of all things wild. There was a brisk wind and the fire roared and attained a great heat very quickly.

Later we began preparations for travelling tomorrow.
