West Europe is in the grip of a heat wave and here in central France it has been 40 degrees and even at 8pm it is still pretty hot. Really too hot to work. This morning after service and breakfast we did another class on Summary of Faith and Practice and had some good discussion about rebirth in the Pure Land. It was nice to be able to do the class in the refectory area where there is almost always a cool breeze which is very welcome on days like this. Then we had a trip to Oasis and Elja and Adam took advantage of the swimming pool while I read Aristotle - well, what did you expect?
The plants are standing up to the heat so far very well and we have big courgettes, both green ones and yellow ones. The roses go on flowering.
