Today temperatures were up in the thirties. A sudden burst of heat. I wonder if we shall have more. I was doing physical work most of the day and when I came in I had a good thirst.
A friend came by and we discussed the imminent referendum which the opinion polls say is extremely close. It seems a bit crazy that things of such consequence should get decided by a vote that could be swung one way or the other by chance emotional factors.
It is a great pleasure to be here at Eleusis during the strawberry season - :-).... and the raspberry season... and the black current season.... in fact it is a great privilege to be here at all.
At sunset I was in the big barn, sweeping out upstairs - now that there is an 'upstairs' - and the light shining in was indescribably beautiful.

It's coming up to redcurrent season here in my Perth garden, then gooseberry season, then blackberry season. And local strawberries and raspberries arrive in my veg box. Jams will be made - if I don't eat them first!
