MONDAY 20 JUNE; My Last Days in the Monastery.

I have spent some quiet time here since I returned. I have been walking around with crutches, and these last days most of the time with one crutch. I also spent some time with family and friends. I slept a lot and to pass the time I knit a scarf. The weather is better than in France, so when it permits, I spent some time in the beautiful garden here.

A couple of days ago Jnanamati visited me here in the monastery. It was as if a bit of Eleusis was visiting me. It was very nice to meet him here in Den Bosch. I felt reconnected with the Amida Sangha, with David and Eleusis.

The day I will return is coming closer now. Adam will travel from Eleusis to Belgium, to Vajrapala's place. He will spend the night there and on Tuesday he will arrive at the monastery. I am looking forward to welcoming him here. That will make two postulants staying in the erstwhile building of the postulants of the Redemptorist Order.

The next day, Wednesday morning, I will have my last control appointment with my surgeon. They will make an x-ray to see if the protheses and bone fracture is healing well.

Everyday I feel stronger and one part of me is confident about my rehabilitation and another part is a bit concerned. I have the feeling that my left leg is quite a bit longer now. I am wondering if the piece of bone that they cut away by accident and then replaced has now made my leg to long. However, my muscles are still bruised and stiff, so there is also a possibility that it is because of my muscles that I feel so slanting. I will asked the surgeon.

My schedule is a bit tight because in the afternoon, around three o'clock, Jnanamati will also arrive at the monastery and then our journey will start! First we will drive to Vajrapala's place and spend the night there. Adam is driving the old car of Karin's that David has been using, and that car will stay in Belgium now.

Then on Thursday, two priests and two postulants will travel to Eleusis! Swaha! And at Eleusis we will meet Satya and Kaspa and Caroline too. This coming weekend the order meeting is planned and next week there will be the Anshin Retreat. What a wonderful moment to return.

I have already bought a nice bouquet of flowers at the market to thank the women of the monastery for their hospitality.

So slanting or not...I will return home.

  • Happy travelling and happy arriving, all of you. Namo Amida Bu

  • Adam arrived yesterday in Frasnes and left this morning at 10. We had some food together and some practice.

This morning we could do some nembutsu walking in the garden, which was nice.

Much rain is falling, so I hope he will drive safe and arrive this afternoon in Den Bosch.

Happy to see you tomorrow and happy to be able to drive with you all to Eleusis the day after tomorrow!!!!
