I am a current student of the ITZI Buddhist Psychology course.
I am married and a mum to a beautiful boy. I run a farm and try to balance my family life, studies and work. I also teach meditation classes in my community.
I first discovered Buddhism in 1992 while on holiday in the Far East and it has been a life-long preoccupation since then. I feel very fortunate to be able to spend part of my time studying BP through ITZI and hope to be able to continue with studies once this programme is completed.

I would like to be able to follow any teachings that are posted on the website - and, who knows!?, perhaps I will be able to attend a retreat one day.

Thank you, everyone, for the warmth of your welcome. I feel part of the Sangha already! I do not have easy access to a Zen Sangha where I live now, which is about an hour outside Cape Town, so it will be wonderful to follow the teachings and discussions on this site.
A very hearty welcome Maja to the site. Of course whilst never having met in many ways we know each other very well, don't we? It would indeed be something if at some point you could visit us here, perhaps as Dharmavidya says, to come to a retreat.
A very warm welcome to the group Maja. I am from Africa - grew up in Namibia and studied and lived in Cape Town for 8 years. I have lived in England since 2003 and now feel like a true citizen of the world. I joined the Amida sangha in 2009 and enjoy the experiential learning and the nurturing of creativity that is very much the Amida way. I found friendship, love, a sense of community and support and wish the same for you. Juline
Welcome to our network. Yes, it would be very fine if you could come to a retreat. In the meantime I hope that you will get to know people via this site, enjoy the teachings and contribute to the discussions. I think you are our first member from Africa, so now we have members in every continent (except Antarctica). Welcome.
