Tamuly Annette replied to Dharmavidya's discussion SPONTANEITY in QUESTIONS IN THE SAND
"Thank you so much, Dharmavidya, for this very fine analysis of all the facets of the notion. As a Buddhist, I take the gesture of Sujata handing food to the exhausted Shakyamuni as the most wonderful example of spontaneity."

  • Annette,

How are you living together in Oasis ? Have you shared practice and foods etc... ?

My friend and I also did try to begin a co-housing for Buddhists before we did build our house, buth we could not realise it and now we did build on our own in the Pays des Collines, près de Lille et Tournai.

  • Thousand thanks Annette. I'm so happy you could help me/us. I'm also very pleased to be able to contact you. Est-ce que tu est une vraie française ? Ma deusième langue est le français, donc normallement mon français doit etre mieux que mon anglais....

Thank you for your suggestions for translation, this looks very good.

I will send you some more questions next days as we will have some gaderings next weekend.

I did translate the whole Morningservice and a woman of the area who speaks French did help me, but as she is not so common with Buddhism, the meaning off the translations seems not always so right.

I'm very gratefull for the help you offer. Namo Amida Bu

  • Dear Annette,

Thank you for offering help with French on your profile. I really need some help. I live in Belgium en I am dutch speaking, but live in a French speeking part of Belgium. I'm offering here meditation in French and have to translate everything in French; My French is not so fantastic, as well as my english is not so fantastic, but it goos rather well. i have now some people who help me with translations, but some terms are quiet difficult to translate. Could you help me a bit please ?

f.e. foulish being : much used in Purelandbuddhism, how should you translate this in  frensh  ? être fou ? ou être ignorant ? And this one :

"There are beings with little dust in their eyes

Who are wasting through not hearing the Dharma"

We cannot find a good translation.....

    Thanks to heop if possible!

    Lovely greetings,

    Vajrapala

  • Thank you for offering to put us up at Oasis. We are looking forward to staying with you. We are waiting for Dorian's European health card which hopefully will arrive in a day or two and if it does then we'll travel on Wednesday.
